Props to mr. henry and mr. lent for the inspiration of this post. In an effort to further progress the sharing of new (alteast recently discovered) music, what bands have you recently become aware of that you feel are really good and do not have the recognition that they deserve? Let's pretend that we live in a utopian society and the noteriety of the band has nothing to do with the coolness factor of their music. In other words, their music is still good no matter how the radio stations might try and convince you otherwise by senselessly leaving their airplay button on repeat.

Or even groups that you have heard of, but have not checked out sufficiently to make a call on yet, but you feel like they definitely have potential. They have piqued your interests if you will.

here are a few to get the ball rolling:

Ember Days
Ester Drang
Richard Swift
American Football
My Spacecoaster (not really around anymore, but I really like their style)
The Dismemberment Plan
From Autumn to Ashes

...more when I have a chance to check my computer at home.
