explosions in the sky will be in the hub city this thursday night. Oh happy, happy, joy, joy. something cool is actually happening here. i do not have to drive for hours upon hours to see something unique. i have scoured the net and friends' minds to find out very little of this quartet from Austin. They are instrumentalists specializing in long, drawn out, sweeping music with low low's and high high's. every report i have found on their live show screams greatness at me. the songs i have been able to find on the net sound greatness to me. these guys are relatively unknown as far as i can gather. i can find more bootlegged live recordings of them than i can studio songs. if nothing else, i will finally be able to buy an actual album by this group....now if i can only figure out where they are playing....finding these guys and where they are playing is like some kind of big conspiracy game. you only hear faint whispers of what they are like and where they will be. nobody knows nothin'. speak no evil, hear no evil and junk like that. well, i have my copy of catcher in the rye in hand, and am striking out to find this show. wish me luck.
