i'm in denton now. and i really had nothing to post about until about 30 minutes ago, but here it is - as if you guys needed an explanation. KERA has KTXT beat, hands down. for those of you that don't know, these are PBS stations. so i'm flipping through the channels on my parents TV and i find the Cowboy game being re-broadcast in spanish. how cool is that? i'm watching the game since i missed it while driving here and a commercial comes on. so i do the natural thing. i start flipping channels and what do i hear, but Nickel Creek on the PBS station. wait, it gets even better. Nickel Creek is playing and they finish and another bluegrass group comes on. what's interesting about this group is their banjo player. this guy only has a thumb and half of an index finger on his left hand. what?!!! he's strumming along with his right handing and switching chords with his left - all with a huge goofy grin on his face. like he's laughing at guys like me who have both hands and all their fingers, and still can't play the guitar. but anyway, that was really cool. and then it got cooler. my parents' TV will show two channels split screen. two channels normal size. cool!! so i'm watching the cowboys on one half of the TV and watching and listening to bluegrass groups on PBS on the other. life is good sometimes. ya know?
