I'll be honest.
I'm bored. Hence the design change to the "hanging by a finger" blog. I'm two years removed from any kind of formal training at this point. I've been filling my time with too much television. Of course, I don't watch TV on the TV set, but download the show later and watch them sans commercials. But alas, even the massive amounts of time I've wasted doing this has begun to bore me to tears. I'm surprised it took this long.
So I have begun reading again. Hopefully I'll figure out some way to update the column to the right with current readings and whatnot. For now, just know that I'm reading some book I picked up in a gas station in Lampassas called the "The Boy Captives" about two brothers who were kidnapped by Indians in the late 1800's in the Austin area. Quick, easy, and mildly interesting.
I've been bored enough lately to travel again too. I've been to: Denton, Houston, New York City, Washington D.C., Columbia South Carolina, Atlanta Georgia, Jacksonville Florida, Orlando, Lakeland Florida, Fort Myers Florida, Fort Walton Beach Florida, Lake Charles Louisiana, and Lafayette Louisiana specifically in the last 30 days or so. I've only slept in my bed 10 days out of the past 40 and I almost took off again this weekend. Although I'm only staying in town to go camping so I guess you could say I'm not really going to be in town this weekend either.
I'm pretty devoid of real-world conflict right now. Maybe that's why I'm bored too. I'm not looking for conflict, but it always makes things interesting.
Work has been good. Very good in fact. Nothing but compliments and encouragement from everyone I talk to in the company. It's a bit ridiculous really. My church community is moving and shaking and I'm trying to help as much as possible. I think there are going to be some really fun things happening in the near future because of the move. My family is well. I'll be an uncle for the first time in my life come July. I have good friends whom I really care about and wish I could support and help more when the opportunities arise.
All that to say. I'm thinking of teaching myself the piano, or the drums, or the banjo, or whatever just to be doing something. I lost my 3rd camera in 14 months a couple of weeks ago so I'm guessing I need to look elsewhere for artistic outlets. I'm done with this stream of consciousness writing for a while too. same old thing. different words. How about I speak to you like you're in front of me for a while? Let's give that a try.
Anyway. On to sorting it out I go. Much love and I'm sure we'll talk again real soon.
amore.
