ok. enough of the heavy self-introspective "i don't know" blogs for awhile. they're really not indicative of where i'm at right now anyway. let's try something a little different. i'm just going to talk about myself and what i'm doing. how you like 'dem apples?! ha!
1. i've noticed that amongst my austin friends, i seem to be in the minority when it comes to actually enjoying and wanting to talk football. not an outcast really, but no else really seems to care and maybe even is dissapointed that i do. oh well. fantasy football lives on in my life regardless as does my irrational love for the cowboys...just ask kim. she's already said goodbye to me for the next 4 months. as indicated from her inability to return my phone calls with apologies for not going to dinner because of fantasy football drafts. so kim, sorry.
2. monday night bowling is a pretty regular occurrence. i haven't really bowled in a awhile and i haven't been showing up every week lately. but i'm ready to roll again. ha! pun intended.
3. work is getting back to normal after the maelstrom of chaos heaped upon me by my friend and co-workers promotion. i've almost caught up with the major stuff and can finally start focusing on the details again. that makes me feel better. i haven't called in sick once all year. that's a record for me. count it.
4. i've actually written out personal goals for myself for the first time in my life. amazingly enough, it seems to be working. sure, they're easy so i don't get frustrated and give up right away, but i am sleeping more. and that's never a bad thing. i mean, i'm posting this earlier than i've posted in a looooonnngggg time.
5. it's my sisters birthday today. Happy Birthday Bethany! I'll call you later.
6. mosaic is a good place to be and i need to make more of a committment to it. i know this and plan action soon. they really do things in a way i can get behind.
7. discipline is no longer a dirty word in my life. i've been waiting for this a long time and i'm excited about the possibilities.
8. i have a reason for obtaining a passport again. my cousin and his wife invited me along for a cruise next month and i just might go. if not that, then maybe a trip to ireland with a couple of good friends next year. who knows? prague didn't work out this past spring because i wanted to be a grown-up and pay off the credit card. that sucked.
9. i purchased my first new vehicle a couple of months ago. she's a monster and i love it. i was standing next to a van, but decided it was too much work for a guy in an apartment, but the good thing is i still haven't given up the dream. i almost purchased a '65 lincoln continental as well, but the guy never called me back. jerk. suicide doors are never to be frowned upon in my book.
10. ten goes out to my friends who keep challenging me with new musical choices and ways to look at them. i still don't analyze music. it takes some of the enjoyment out if you are constantly dissecting a band instead of just listening, but the choices keep getting juicier (if that's not a word - it should be).
and off to work i go. see. i told you i was back in bed with discipline. i usually don't get started for another two hours. ha! this is ridiculous.
