Speaking with other people will, from time to time, remind me of why I do and don't behave in certain ways. I spent some time out with a friend last night and she proceeded to fill me on the details of her and another mutual friends adventures over the few weeks I had been out of town. I can't reveal details since all was spoken in confidence, but suffice to say, we have different sets of values when it comes to behavior and all that is related to it. So many of the things that were going wrong were due to simple choices. Unfortunately, most of them were poor choices from the way things were working out. It wasn't so much that bad decisions were being made, we all do that, it was the fact that they were being repeated. It reminds me of an old adage, perhaps you've heard it.

A smart man learns from his mistakes, A wise man learns from the mistakes of others, and a fool never learns.

I'm trying to work my way into that "wise" area, although you'd have to be the judge of whether or not I'm successful.

Moving on. Camping didn't happen last night. It was cold and people already had plans they couldn't get away from. We're hoping to go when it gets a little warmer. But the night was not wasted by my compatriots. While I sat listening with open mouth to the exploits in my absence, a few people got together and built a campfire in their backyard using the firewood that had been procured for aforementioned camping trip. I wish I could have been there. Oh well.

I'm sick right now too, so maybe it was better that I didn't go spend the night out in the cold. Oh, and I'm tired of being sick. You can quote me on that too. I don't mind. Anyway, I've got to shower up and head out to church.

hasta.
